Like many immigrants chasing the American dream, Lauro started at the very bottom, working long hours in the agricultural fields of Idaho, harvesting sugar beets and potatoes under the scorching sun. Little did he know that these early experiences of hard labor would forge the work ethic that would later define his roofing company.
From Humble Beginnings to a Roofing Legacy
At age 21, Lauro moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where he discovered his calling in the roofing trade. He began with a local roofing company, absorbing every detail of the craft like a sponge. His natural talent and dedication quickly became apparent as he mastered both residential and commercial roofing techniques.
Seeking to expand his knowledge, Lauro later moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he worked for Beldon Roofing, one of the nation's premier commercial roofing contractors. It was here that he developed expertise in complex roofing systems, architectural detailing, and the critical waterproofing technologies that protect buildings from the elements.
Building a Business from the Ground Up
Returning to Colorado with this valuable experience, Lauro spent years perfecting his craft at Central States Roofing while simultaneously building his own business on nights and weekends. The turning point came in 2010 when demand for his work became so overwhelming that he had to make a choice—continue working for others or fully commit to his own vision. With characteristic courage, Lauro chose the latter, transforming L.E. Roofing from a side business into a full-fledged commercial roofing enterprise.
